FAQs
“Frequently Asked Questions:”
What is a class like?
The classes are a fun and laid back group setting where an instructor will guide you step-by-step replicating the featured painting or craft project. Absolutely no experience is necessary! We play some great music and have lots of fun! There is plenty of time to socialize. Class length varies depending on the project, but most can be done in under an hour. We schedule 2 hours, so everyone can relax and not feel rushed. You are welcome to leave when your project is complete. You do not have to stay the entire time.
Because of COVID, we have reduced the number of people per event to under 25% capacity. Facial coverings/masks must be worn during the duration of event. We sit everyone at a social distance from strangers. Families and friends who come together, can sit together, distanced from other tables.
Do I need to sign up in advance?
Yes. There is limited seating, so we highly recommend signing up in advance. The easiest way to register online is to email us (info@artscarafes.com) with the date of the event you want to attend, your name and the name of anyone you wish to sign up too. We will send you confirmation reserving your seat. You will pay in person when you arrive for the start of the class/event. We accept credit cards (Master Card, VISA, American Express), Apple Pay, and cash - exact amount is appreciated so we can reduce the need to make cash change. If a class is sold out, you can be put on a wait list.
What is the cost?
The class prices vary depending on the art project. Our events are usually $35+ and include all supplies. Follow our Facebook page for occasional promotion and coupon deals.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! We offer gift certificates. You can purchase those right here on our website or you can stop in at the studio any time we are open to purchase them as well.
What should I wear?
Due to COVID, we no longer provide aprons. We recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting paint on- just in case! We use acrylic paints that can stain clothing but washes off hands easily. Be sure to leave nice jackets and purses at home as Arts & Carafes cannot be responsible for any paint stains or damage.
Can I bring in food?
Yes, you can bring in food but must wear a facial covering/mask when not directly eating or sipping beverage.
Can I bring in my own wine?
Yes, you can BYOB if you are 21+ with a valid ID. You may bring wine, beer, or prosecco with you. You must wear facial covering/mask when not directly sipping beverage.
Is there anywhere nearby to grab dinner or a drink?
Yes! The Den, Knockout Pizza and the Red Nun are a short walk from our studio and offer many tasty treats and luscious libations. Main St Dennis Port has gone through a revitalization with many interesting shops and artists. Come check out all our creative awesome neighbors!
What time do I need to arrive for a class?
Doors open 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time. We try to start our classes promptly, so please be courteous by not arriving late.
Where should I park?
Most of our classes are in the evening or on weekends, there is limited street parking along one side of Main St, Dennis Port and several free public lots nearby.
What is your cancellation policy?
Sometimes classes are full, and we have a waiting list, so if you need to cancel, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. Please email us to cancel. This enables us to give the next person on the waiting list ample time to make plans to join us. Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to receive a full ticket refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours will receive a credit for a future event. No shows, people who do not contact us prior to an event, will not receive a refund or credit. Thank you in advance for your understanding with regard to this policy.
Do you ever cancel classes?
Sometimes unexpected events (like snow storms) pop up. We reserve the right to cancel classes for unforeseen circumstances. If we need to cancel a class, we alert customers as soon as possible, fully refund tickets and rescheduled the project to another date.
If I come with a friend or a group, can we all sit together?
We always try to seat friends and parties together. Please let us know (email info@artscarafes.com) if you wish to sit with someone and we can set that up before you arrive.
Are kids allowed to come to any class?
Kids are allowed in classes unless specified "adults only" in the event description. An adult must be present (no drop offs). We recommend ages 8 and up for the regular classes, as the classes are more challenging, and have a longer duration. You know your child. If they are comfortable sitting for a couple hours and following along, they are welcome. We also schedule kids classes and family paint, which will be the best fit for younger kids. Kids classes feature paintings and projects that are a little easier, and the atmosphere geared towards kids.
I missed a painting or craft that I really want to make. How often will you repeat?
Please let us know! We will definitely keep this in mind when schedule future events. We also offer craft appointments. Just contact us and we’ll work with you to schedule a time to come in and craft what you want when you want, We also offer pre-made make at home craft kits for many of our projects. You can order online for grab and go pick up, local delivery or shipping.
When do the monthly calendars come out?
Classes are added all the time, but usually a calendar is posted around the 20th of each month.
